The Vision

From our initial conversation, Angela spoke of kimonos not just as garments, but as wearable poetry. In her words, “Walking through a market in East London around 25 years ago, I spotted a black silk kimono gracefully adorned with herons… the elegance and flow of a kimono is like no other. They make you glide across a room and feel like a million dollars.” 

This moment of discovery marked the birth of her kimono-obsession—she learned every nuance of what makes the perfect kimono: fabric, fit, flow, lapel, sleeve and length. 

She selected a palette rich in depth and warmth that reflected the romantic tones of French country evenings: deep wine hues inspired by cellar nights, soft wisteria tones reminiscent of blossoms climbing ancient stone walls, and intricate embroidery that evokes the gentle brushstrokes of evening light. Every design, every detail, every cut has been taken on a journey, tweaked and nurtured to perfection. 

“Clothing should feel like a place you love,” she reflected during our creative session. An ethos that beautifully mirrors our philosophy at Artemis Muse.
